please, PLEASE, will somebody actually come up to the plate and write an original story and make it into a movie? I don't want to see the latest pretty boy vomited into a comic book. No more shakey handed attempts at tracing over AND OVER ideas that have been marched before us as if something new has been added. Is it because the Studios are so fearful of another actor's or writer's strike? It is easier to do a tombstone rubbing of whatever sold last year and beef up the special effects. Those are non union ... so far.

I may be way off but it seems to me that most successful ideas/concepts, wether it's a form of artistic expression or some type of utilitarian invention are brought to the social conscientious by individuals with that strange and wonderful entrepreneurial drive. After these people have introduced their idea to the world it is then left up to the masses to completely ruin it.

American cinema was started by artistic entrepreneurs and has been run into the ground by corporations. Corporations that have replaced what creative vision they once had with board members and shareholders.

Sad really.

Wow, um...
ok, thanks for the comment Bruce. I honestly don't know what to say.

Hehe, sorry Doug. Your commentary struck a cord with me. I guess that's what a good editorial/political cartoonist can do, inspire both laughter, and rants.

Good stuff. :)

You are absolutely correct. Rant away. I just thought that of all of the times that I would have gotten a knuckleball, this would not have been one of them. It caught me daydreaming way off in "what the hey?" land. A couple of very influencial folks have pointed out that "editorial" is the first part of editorial cartoon. Hey, I'm new at this... I'll get better.

I have to say, that dog peeking over the table at the food, is awesome. It must have been drawn from experience.

Thanks Bryan, yes our dog is quite the stare down queen. she will even go to a different table of her own height and put her head on it just and slowly look longingly back at us just to make it look as pitiful as possible. She has the acting chops no doubt.
