Drawergeeks: Zombies- lost girl. The second submission for this topic. I feel much better about this submission. It is my second entirely digital piece from concept sketch to completion. With a topic like this, I am sure that the entries will be numerous and breathtaking in concept and execution as always. It is so exciting to see how everybody provides such a different solution. That is where the fun is, seeing how everybody views a problem and how their minds solve it creatively. Can't wait to see.
Detail is below.

Lois-philippe, thanks so much. This was an image that I have wanted to get out of my head for a while.

Wow...this is the one that'll have me awake tonight, and tomorrow night, and the next night. I love the leaves, the swing chains, the hair, okay, yeah, the whole thing.

Adam, Hey thanks man. I was taught that if I can pull in the viewer as an active character, then the emotional connection is made. Maybe that is why books are always regarded as better "versions" of a story than movies. Our minds can create in the blink of an eye much more personal connections and visions than any studio could create. Howard Pyle and NC Wyeth were masters at this.

reaaaly scary! It reminded me the aliens of that movie 'The Invasion', remake of that other alien movie... People that stands still and just stare at you. Urgh!
great art!

Awesome! I don't know how you do this stuff in digi. It looks great, and I especially enjoy the composition and, of course, the green eyes.

Thanks Lacey, (just between you and me, it's the only way I can paint without it getting muddy). But don't tell nobody. -db

I found Drawergeeks some time ago and I LOVE the site! You guys are awesome! I love your work and think both of your submissions for "Zombies" were hands down the best (yours and Mark Behm's). Just wanted to let you know!

I'd love to get in on the action. I know it's by invitation only, not to mention you pros would make my stuff look ridiculous!

Anyway, awesome stuff dude!

Ken, Thanks heaps man. Hey, there is only one way to get better. Practice. If you love to draw, turn off the TV for an hour and draw. If you are a digital person... sit at the mac and concept. Draw there. For the last 3 years I turned off the TV (what's really on anyway?) and draw for about an hour or two a night, even if it's just once a week. You would be surprised how much better you get after a few months. And you are developing your self rather than letting Hollywood tell you who you are. GO GET EM!!!!!
