5 minute and a 10 minute dwg for the last two sittings at the end of the day. I had master artist Sherri McGraw. A wonderful teacher, and a blessing just to listen to. I have learned a bit about myself from each of the instructors and presenters. I am happy. I am very happy that I am home, but I am happy.

I attended my first workshop... the American Artists Weekend with the Masters. Lots of wonderful people and so many gracious instructors and painters of world renown that I was simply happy to be among them. The drawings above were some of the many that we did in a day of gesture drawings. Most of all were 2 minutes or less.

Red Door Studio Drawing Session October 30th, 2010

The Halloween session of Red Door Studio Open Drawing Session for October 30th, 2010. A wonderful model, and I have not attended the entire month, so I was nervous about would I be rusty or not... but I guess that bringing the sketchbook everywhere and drawing when I had a chance on location(s) helped out. I had a good night.

back from Bloomington, In. Good people, lots of work accomplished. really brain sore. Did sketching in the evenings and early mornings to scare away the missings of Lee Ann. Some turned out... some stink like poop. It's a crap shoot, HA!!!! Oh, even when I'm bleary eyed, I still got it. Oh, ho... I gotta hold my sides on that one. whoo.

pages from the sketchbook: exercise for the Zoo Next Saturday to go with a group for drawing in the morning. Haven't done life drawing at a zoo in years. Was fun when I last attempted it. Will bring the camera for reference on anything that requires finishing at home. Rest assured, results good and bad will go up... unless they are "what were you thinking" bad.

I am working from a tablet of pastel papers and kraft papers without binding. It is freeing in some respects (being left handed). I love not being chewed by spiral binding. But I miss not having a collected stash for my drawings other than a box. Well, it is in a folder and well protected until some solution can be found. But until the paper is used, this is quite an experiment.

right now i don't have a sketch/drawing book (bound) of any sorts. I got a gracious gift from a friend at work of pastel papers and acid free kraft papers. But I have been lax at scanning any of the drawings. so I will do so here and try to keep up the scanning so as to not bog down the 'puter for the rest of the family.
