Hello, I have been in the visual arts field since 1989. These drawings and sketches are what I do. They are a snapshot in time of what I am trying to express or resolve. Sometimes the expression is incomplete until I can uncover a better solution.
I hope you enjoy what you see. I have had a good time growing along with the drawings.
hey Tyler, These here are actually conventional white clayboard with black ink... then scratched away. But the same result can be easily done digitally by going to a grayscale document or an alpha channel. Then set your brush to about 85 to 80 percent opacity of black. You can then just draw away with a tablet. Set your brush wide enough to get some thicks and thins. Then just toggle between white and black with the X key and you are doing digital scratch board. It isn't rocket science by any means. Dive in... the water's fine. -db
I like it, but prefer the one after this on your blog. There is less emotion and depth here I feel. The latter conveys more of you and in a better light...or is it shadow? Sorry, can't give the technical words, just what I see. I really loved it. You should be proud.

Interesting portraits! Are you actually scanning in scratchboards and editing, or is this all digital?
